Things To Do

Wineries
The Okanagan valley is blessed with the perfect climate for viniculture, and has more than 50 VQA certified wineries. Peachland is ideally located midway between Kelowna and Penticton, with easy access to the valley's wineries. Hainle Estates in Peachland was the original producer of ice wines in the Okanagan. The valley hosts four wine festivals each year. Visit the wine festivals site for more information about the festivals and the wineries
Water Activities
Bring your swim suit and/or sand pails. Okanagan Lake is a summer paradise for boating, sailing and swimming. There are sand beaches and gravel beaches from Penticton to Kelowna. Peachland has a 5 km walkway along the lakefront, with supervised swimming at Swim Bay. Boat launching ramps are just north of Swim Bay and just south of the stop light. For boat and jet-ski rentals, check out Peachland Water Sports
Hiking and Biking
The Okanagan valley has sections of the Trans Canada Trail in Kelowna, Naramata and Penticton. Peachland has three local trails, one leading to the summit of Pincushion mountain. Ponderosa Pines B&B is located at the base of Pincushion mountain, 30 metres from the start of the trail. Click here for a map of Peachland trails.
Golf
If it isn't wine, it's golf. We overlook the 13th green of the Ponderosa Golf Club. Ask us about our golfing specials. With over a dozen courses in the Central Okanagan, and over 40 in the Okanagan valley, you will easily find the course of your dreams. Check out all the courses at Golf Okanagan.
Steam Trains
Once upon a time, there was a little railway that could, running through southern BC. The Kettle Valley railway has disappeared except for historic steam train runs in Summerland. For schedules (including train robbery days) check out the KVR site. The old rail bed is part of the Trans-Canada trail. Sections in Kelowna, Naramata, Penticton and Summerland are now used as hiking and biking trails.
